Puerto Quito between rivers and gastronomy

No plans for the weekend? Do not worry! Puerto Quito is located two and a half hours from the capital of Ecuador, It offers a variety of natural places, gastronomic and cultural attractions, perfect for enjoying a beautiful vacation or holiday with family and friends.

The journey starts now! 

From Quito we take the road Calacalí - La Independencia, which connects the province of Pichincha with Esmeraldas. During the tour we can taste delicious cheeses, sweets and fries in Nanegalito, parish of the Metropolitan District. After a few minutes we continue to our destination, beautiful landscapes and lush flora and fauna on the sides of the road accompany us.

We arrived in Puerto Quito! 

It is time to enjoy nature, in a waterfall or spa to cool off after the trip. On the road to Esmeraldas, we go to Puerto Rico, a sector where its inhabitants are engaged in agribusiness; From this place we continue to the Grupo Mieles enclosure and arrive at the Blue waterfall.

The Blue waterfall has a water fall of approximately 20 meters, which forms a natural pool of 40 meters in diameter, rappelling and taking photographs, is part of the activities to be carried out on this site.  

After knowing this wonderful place, we move to the Steam Stone a site that is located 14 km from Puerto Quito in this place, there is a giant pyramid-shaped rock, at least 8 meters high, submerged in the White River, against which the waters of this majestic river collide and generate a type of cloud that spreads in the air, hence its name “ Steam Stone ”. Here you can practice sport fishing and adventure sports such as kayaking .   

Puerto Quito , is characterized by welcoming citizens who traveled from other provinces to settle in this canton, allowing to highlight their cultural and gastronomic traditions. Here you can taste braised guava, fried tilapia, fish shrimp, creole chicken and of course a delicious chocolate prepared with fine aroma cocoa.
